Panel replacement or service upgrade?

A panel replacement changes the distribution equipment. A service upgrade changes the available supply capacity and may involve the meter, service conductors and utility connection. Adding breaker spaces alone does not increase the capacity of your electrical service.

Planning your project

The review considers the existing service rating, major loads, panel condition and proposed equipment. A 200-amp upgrade is not automatically necessary for every EV charger. The appropriate solution depends on a load assessment and the property. Any required ESA notification, inspection and utility coordination must be identified before work starts.

What affects the quote?

Panel location, cable routes, access, equipment and the extent of utility work affect scope and pricing. Some projects require a planned power interruption. Send your city, a panel photo, existing service rating and proposed equipment. Timing and costs are confirmed after review.
